Singer songwriter Matty Smith emerges from the depths of the Christchurch winter as Deep Water Creek (DWC). Energetic and full of life, shaped by southern blasts and Southern Alps.

Emboldened by the promise of the new, Deep Water Creek harks back to a simpler era of alt folk, rock and pop. Best known for an emotional rollercoaster of a set, they have been playing in and around the city since releasing their debut E.P in 2019.
